Hello, I’m Emma — a BACP registered therapist behind Thistle and Bloom Therapy. I offer remote counselling sessions to adults across the UK.
My approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a respect for your unique experiences. I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred counselling, compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and trauma-informed approaches — adapting what I offer to meet your needs at every stage of your therapeutic journey.
What Therapy with Me Is Like
Over the past decade, I’ve supported individuals in diverse settings including the NHS, university mental health services, and third sector organisations. I’ve worked with people facing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-worth, and complex emotional experiences — and have a special interest in supporting:
Depression & Anxiety Disorders
Women with complex presentations
People navigating eating disorders and body image concerns
Neurodiverse clients, including those with ADHD
My work is grounded in building a trusting, respectful relationship where you can feel safe enough to explore, reflect, and heal at your own pace.
In our work together, I aim to:
Help you make sense of your experiences
Identify unhelpful patterns and develop healthier ways of coping
Support you in reconnecting with your values, strengths, and self-compassion
